My Role
I developed the complete website while contributing to the broader brand strategy and messaging. My work included implementing the color-coding system for six different counseling services, designing with soft pastels and rounded elements to reduce anxiety, building the CMS for counselors and blog content, and creating an intuitive scheduling flow that made booking therapy sessions less intimidating.
Challenges Faced
Making mental health services feel approachable without diminishing their professionalism required careful visual balance. The color-coding system needed to work across six services while maintaining accessibility standards for all users. Creating distinct service pages within a CMS template meant getting creative with dynamic styling. Most importantly, the scheduling process had to feel simple enough that someone in crisis wouldn't give up halfway through.
Process & Discovery
Research showed potential clients often felt overwhelmed browsing therapy websites—too clinical, too complex, too scary. The pastel palette and rounded edges came from studying calming design principles in healthcare. The color-per-service strategy helps visitors quickly identify and remember their needed service type. Random circular elements add visual interest without the sharp edges that can subconsciously increase anxiety.

Design Overview
The design radiates calm through soft pastels—each counseling type gets its own soothing hue, from gentle blue for individual therapy to warm peach for couples counseling. Rounded corners on every element eliminate harsh edges that might feel confrontational. Circular texture elements float throughout, adding depth without distraction. Typography stays clean and readable, respecting that visitors might be in emotional states where complex layouts feel overwhelming.

The results & business impact after site launch
The 32% visitor increase showed the welcoming design attracted people who might have avoided traditional therapy sites. Page speed improvements from 32 to 83 meant anxious visitors didn't abandon while waiting for pages to load. The 2.3% bounce rate reduction proved the color-coded services helped people quickly find their needed support. Most importantly, consultation bookings increased significantly—the approachable design successfully reduced the intimidation factor of reaching out for mental health support.
